Introducing “The Oath of Odin,” a truly remarkable sword designed and crafted exclusively by Raven Loft Forge. Inspired by Norse legend, the name came to Raven during a Renaissance fair in Lake Havasu, AZ, as he recounted the tale of Odin’s son Vidar, who avenged his father by stabbing the monstrous wolf Fenrir through the throat with this very blade.

Measuring just over 44 inches in total length, this commanding longsword features a nearly 35-inch blade forged from a blend of 1005, 1095, 4140, and 52100 carbon steels. With over 2,300 layers of Damascus steel folded into a stunning Fire Twist pattern, this blade is both a work of art and a testament to exceptional craftsmanship.

The handle is crafted from rich black walnut and wrapped in leather for a secure and comfortable grip, while the cast bronze pommel is hand-engraved, adding a timeless elegance. The matching black walnut sheath, also leather-wrapped, balances rugged functionality with classic design.

Reflecting the military and cultural significance of late medieval and Renaissance Europe (13th–17th centuries), this longsword—often called a bastard sword—captures the spirit and power of its era.
