This beautiful hand-crafted, hand-forged two-handed sword is a precise recreation of a museum piece I created for a German museum exhibit on European history. Commissioned to faithfully replicate the original, this sword embodies centuries of medieval sword-making traditions.
Historical Context:
• Early Middle Ages (5th–10th Century): Migration period swords were shorter, double-edged blades derived from Roman designs like the spatha. Viking Age swords were long, straight, double-edged, and featured a fuller for weight reduction and balance, optimized for slashing in combat without heavy armor.
• High Middle Ages (11th–13th Century): Norman swords introduced broad, straight blades during the Norman Conquest. Crusader swords featured cruciform hilts symbolizing Christian faith, designed for both slashing and thrusting as mail armor became common.
• Late Middle Ages (14th–15th Century): Arming swords: One-handed swords paired with shields, ideal for knights in chainmail or plate armor. Longswords: Two-handed swords offering increased reach and power, with techniques like half-swording to exploit armor weaknesses. Estocs: Specialized thrusting swords with narrow, pointed blades designed to pierce plate armor.
Features:
• Blade Material: Originally iron, later high-carbon and Damascus steel for superior durability and sharpness.
This product is a true masterpiece, distinguished not only by exceptional craftsmanship but also by its singularity—each sword is a one-of-a-kind creation. Crafted with love, precision, and deep respect for history and culture, it reflects the master smith’s creativity and dedication.
These unique swords become part of your world, carrying the energy of past eras and serving as an unrivaled link between modernity and ancient tradition.
Perfect for collectors and lovers of medieval mythology, this two-handed sword is more than an accessory; it is a unique treasure echoing the heritage of medieval Europe and the spirit of the wild. Add this stunning piece to your collection or gift it to someone who cherishes history, mythology, and powerful craftsmanship
