One of Raven's best creations he has done in a long time. Made once for a Danish Diplomate, Raven was inspired once again to recreate this Absolutely Gorgeous and Stunning piece of function work of art. Inspired by Norse culture and Norse mythology. Raven made this design.
It's not only Damascus, but Copper Damascus, better known as Cu Mai.
Cu Mai Damascus" refers to a type of Damascus steel that incorporates layers of copper within the blade, creating a distinctive visual pattern when forged and etched, often described as a unique and aesthetically pleasing look; "Cu Mai" literally translates to "Copper Mai" in Vietnamese, essentially meaning "copper layered steel.
The Copper is mixed with M390 , CPM-S35VN,and 154CM. In addition to the three primum high end knife making steels, Raven also added Meteorite to the blade. Giving the blade a High Carbon and Nickle content improving the edge retention, corrosion and overall strength of the blade.
With all the steels, both high and low carbons, with the copper and meteorite. There is a total of 950 true layers.
The handle is made from a Stag Horn Crown, Copper, and Malecite. The Norse Man carved into the Stag Horn Crown was approximately 40 hours.
The Sheath is made from Kangaroo Hide. All hand stitched, hand embossed, then carved, then painted with oil paints and finally stained and sealed.
The over all length of this Beautiful Masterpiece is 10 inches.
