Until the revealing of the X-ray images this type of Forged Welding during this time period was unheard of. According to experts and Scholars at the time the only culturals that were using Crucible Steel and Pattern-Weldeing were those of the Middle East and India. After Much Research and two Trips to The British Museum to personality see the Actual Sutton Hoo Sword . Raven set off to recreate what he referres to as "By Far My Most Amazing Masterpiece of a Museum Quality Historical Recreation Yet, and property the second or third most expensive Damascus Sword I've ever made" 

Raven decided to use canister damascus for this build, as it was the closest to the original way of Crucible Steel Pattern-Welding you can get. Raven used 6 very Premium High-Quality Crucible Powder Steels along with Nickle Meteorite Tungsten, and Vanadium mixture added into his canister damascus. After forging his canisters Raven then layered his high Carbon Billoits with Wrought Iron and low Carbon Alloy Steels.

Just like how the Original Damascus Viking Sword was made. Raven to made 16 Damascus rods instead of 8 that were layered 21 times instead of 7 . That were "Z" and "S" Twisted then forged-welded together creating a intricately pattern that captured the very essence of Viking Myth and Lore. After months of Forge-Welding Raven made a 63 1/2 inch Long single Rod that had alternate twist into the rod. That he Painstakingly , Meticulously, Forged-Welded The entire Sword Blade together. The was by far the most beautiful Damascus Viking Sword He had ever seen.

Using a 24 kt Gold Alloy for the hilt fittings Raven used lab grown Garnets and carefully with delicate hands inlayed each gem stone into place with such precision . After each gem stone was securely set into place , Raven used a very special complexed mixture of appoxy and resen that a very close friend of his gave him who worked for the San Jose Museum of History. Raven was told at times the museum would use this mixture to seal and restore Historical Paintings Jewelry and even Pottery. .
